It’s hard to believe that this natural setting for a jewel of the Queen Charlotte Sound was once farmland and home to cattle and sheep.

But that was a 100 years ago.

Today the Lazyfish is an exclusive family owned retreat providing its discerning guests with magical grounds full of surprise, luxury  private bungalow accommodation featuring four poster beds on parquet floors.

At night soak up the atmosphere in your private outdoor claw foot bath under the stars, and bubbles.

The north facing aspect of this iconic place provides you with all day sun enabling you to take advantage of the safe and clear water ideal for swimming or kayaking. If that is not for you then just sit back with an award winning Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and prepare to be intoxicated by the vistas created by the greatest artist of them all, mother nature.

To be proprietors of this special place is very much considered a privilege by the family. It is this feeling that motivates them to want to share it with you. It also produces a unique atmosphere and special level of hospitality .The Lazyfish doesn’t need to have guests , it wants to have them.

Even our Kitchen is operated by people who love to cook , not have too.
